Glazing area, at home. 1000 gram batch of white raku glaze for tonight. Raku glaze is from Dennis Rocchio's glaze book, page 91. It is the Chris Thompson glaze: frit 3110---300, nepheline syenite----200, gerstley borate----500.

At the Laguna Gloria art class I take on Monday night, they do a lot of Raku firing. I have never really fired Raku, but tonight some of the students will be doing it. Actually, if someone just says the word Raku, they fire up the kiln, fill the trash can, and fire. I want to try some tea bowls I made last year with a moon white clay. If nothing else, it should be interesting. More pictures later.

SHINO glaze not affected by the re-fire

Inside, black slip under SHINO really doesn't work, but while liner glaze over what did't work, and fired again, works pretty good. At least it is smooth.
